'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' May Get a Re-Release With New Scenes; Learn More
Although the original version still hasn't left the theaters, Sony already plans a big return.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day may return to theaters in a new form. According to Deadline, the film, which already holds the title for highest-grossing film of all time in the United States after grossing over $936.8 million in theaters, will have additional scenes shown in a potential new version.
The report states that one of the scenes is likely to include Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. The actress had previously confirmed that her appearance as the nurse was ultimately cut from the film’s final version; “My post was all ready, with my behind-the-scenes photos, [...] and then I got the email saying something like, ‘Yeah, no’”, she recalled during a Daredevil panel at GalaxyCon.
Dawson's scene, however, wouldn't be the only one Sony and Marvel are planning to add to the re-release. It remains unclear when this new version is expected to hit theaters, specially as the original film is still being exhibited in most cinemas around the world.

In addition to Tom Holland returning as the protagonist, Jacob Batalon will once again play Ned, and Zendaya returns for the new Spider-Man film as MJ. New additions to the cast include Sadie Sink (Stranger Things).
Another confirmed cast member is Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, marking the hero's debut in Marvel films. In addition, Mark Ruffalo is in the film as the Hulk.
Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is directing the project. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who wrote the screenplay for Spider-Man: No Way Home, are also responsible for the film.
