Snoop Dogg Film 'Snoop' to Release Summer 2027

'Snoop', a biopic about rapper Snoop Dogg's life, received a release date for summer 2027. As Variety stated, Universal Pictures set August 6 as the theater opening. 

Directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow), the feature film will star Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks) as the lead role; story details haven't been confirmed yet. Universal, however, already stated that the production is aiming to be "the definitive biopic of the artist, mogul and icon of gangsta rap". 

The movie will be the first production to come out of Universal's partnership with Death Row Pictures, label run by the rapper himself. Snoop is also enlisted to produce the biopic with Brian Grazer, from Imagine Entertainment, and Sara Ramaker, from Death Row Pictures.
