Everything you need to know about Sense and Sensibility
Focus Features and Working Title Films are behind the new version of the popular 18th-century novel, with Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) directing from a script by author Diana Reid.
Sense and Sensibility centers on the impoverished Dashwood family and portrays the romantic experiences of sisters Elinor and Marianne as they and their widowed mother navigate the life of their once-wealthy family after the death of their father and husband. Jane Austen's book had already been adapted for theaters in 1995, in the film of the same name starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, which is available on Netflix.
For this version, Edgar-Jones stars as Elinor and Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne. Sense and Sensibility continues the collaboration between Focus and Working Title, successful since the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, another Austen classic, and the 2020 adaptation of Emma.
The new adaptation opens in theaters on October 16.
