When Will 'Spider-Man 5' Hit Theaters? Sony CEO Drops Hint

After the massive success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans are wondering when they’ll see a new adventure featuring the web-slinger in theaters. Now, Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Ravi Ahuja has commented on the plans for Spider-Man 5 and dropped a hint about when the next movie might hit the big screen.

In an interview with Variety, Ahuja said there is still no set date for the feature, but indicated that the usual gap should be a few years. “We still don’t have a set date. Usually, it’s a few years from now, but we’ll have a Spider-Verse movie next year”, he said. His comments reinforce that Sony is considering continuing the franchise starring Tom Holland, although the studio has not yet officially confirmed when it will be released.

One possible scenario points to 2029. That’s because 2027 will already have Avengers: Secret Wars - which marks the end of the Multiverse Saga, while 2028 will feature other major Marvel projects, including the new X-Men, Ghost Rider, and Black Panther 3 films. With such a packed schedule, Spider-Man 5 could be pushed to the following year, aligning with Ahuja’s estimate that the movie would arrive “in a few years”.

Before that, audiences will still be able to watch Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third and final chapter of the animated trilogy starring Miles Morales.
