The announcement of the death of Patrick Stewart, the eternal Professor Xavier of X-Men and a Star Trek legend, was followed by a wave of tributes. Among them is one from Dafne Keen, who acted alongside the actor in Logan (2017) when she was still a child. In the production, she played Laura, also known as X-23, while Stewart portrayed a debilitated version of Charles Xavier.

Now, at 21 years old, the actress posted a touching message on social media and recounted that, coincidentally, she was writing an email to her colleague the night before the news of his death. Check out the post below:

"He was such a kind, genuine, funny, unique, caring and charming man. I remember his endless jokes, nurturing nature and colourful reading glasses. Every single day spent working by his side was an honour and a privilege I can’t quite believe I had. He was a walking master of his craft, and of life. One of the greatest of our time, on stage and on screen," Keen wrote. The actress also highlighted the lessons she learned during filming and stated that she always admired him as an artist and as a person.

In closing the tribute, she left one last message: “So rest in peace, you giant, you legend amongst men. The beautiful work, humanity and kindness you leave behind will live on forever.”
