Belgium's Oscars 2027 Entry 'Coward' Gets New Trailer and Poster by MUBI

MUBI and O2 Play have released the trailer (above) and the new poster (below) for Coward, a feature film written and directed by Lukas Dhont (Close). Selected as Belgium's official representative in the Best International Film category at the 2027 Oscars, the film had its world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where actors Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne jointly won the Best Actor award.

Set in the trenches of the Belgian army during World War I, Coward follows a youthful journey of self-discovery that explores themes such as love, art, and survival. The story combines the epic dimension of the conflict with an intimate look at the characters and their experiences amidst the horrors of war.
