According to exclusive information from The Hollywood Reporter, the franchise Alien will have Aaron Guzikowski, screenwriter of Prisoners, in charge of the script. He was hired by 20th Century Studios to write the film, which will be produced by Ridley Scott.
Guzikowski and Scott have already worked together on Raised by Wolves, an HBO Max series created by him and produced by Scott, who also directed the first two episodes.
The new film, however, will not have Scott in the director's chair, only as a producer alongside Michael Pruss through Scott Free. To date, no director has been announced. The plot is being kept secret, but it is known that the film is not a sequel to Alien: Romulu . The story will be connected to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, the two films Scott directed in the 2010s.
The element that unites the productions is the android played by Michael Fassbender, who is not yet confirmed in the cast. Sources indicate that Scott turned to Guzikowski to breathe new life into the project, which is being overseen by JR Young.
Guzikowski has established himself as one of Hollywood's most sought-after screenwriters. In addition to Prisoners, he wrote the remake of Papillon and created the series Red Road. Currently, he is writing an original science fiction film for Jon Watts, adapting a short story by Philip K. Dick for Sony Pictures, and writing the screenplay for the adult animated film Death Strandin , based on the game by Hideo Kojima.
