The long-awaited Blade film, starring Mahershala Ali, is back in the spotlight after a candid remark from Kevin Feige. In an interview with journalist Joshua Horowitz, the Marvel Studios president commented on the feature, which was announced in 2019 but has faced years of delays, changes in writers and directors, and has yet to enter production. "I feel like a gigantic loser and failure that we didn't get off the ground with Mahershala [Ali]" Feige said.
Despite the admission, the executive did not indicate when Blade will finally make it to production. The project remains in development behind the scenes at Marvel Studios and still has no projected start date for filming or release date. Meanwhile, fans continue waiting for Ali’s debut as the iconic vampire hunter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
