Sacha Baron Cohen Film 'Ali G: Who Iz I?' Gets Poster and Announces Trailer

Ali G: Who Iz I?, starring Sacha Baron Cohen’s iconic character, has received its first official poster. The actor also posted a video on social media announcing that the trailer will be released this Tuesday (25), joking about the character’s return. Check it out below.
The production, which marks the comedian’s feature directorial debut, arrives on October 23 from Amazon MGM Studios.

The project was filmed in secret, following the same strategy the comedian used for Borat (2006) and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020).
Ali G, a clumsy interviewer full of hip-hop slang, first rose to prominence on Da Ali G Show and through appearances on Channel 4’s The 11 O'Clock Show before winning over American audiences on HBO. No plot details for the new feature have been revealed, and a spokesperson for Cohen declined to comment.
Cohen, who was nominated for an Oscar for The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020), also has other comedy characters on his résumé, such as Borat, Bruno and Admiral General Aladeen, in addition to roles in films like Sweeney Todd, Hugo, and the Madagascar franchise.
He also created and starred in the Emmy-nominated series Who Is America? and won three Golden Globes for his Borat films. The new movie marks Ali G’s return to the screen, a character who helped launch the comedian’s career in the early 2000s.
