'Bleach' Creator Reveals Main Challenge of Anime's Final Season

In a recent interview, Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, spoke about the challenges faced during the production of the anime’s final season, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, which adapts the manga’s final arc. He revealed that he has become more directly involved in building the scenes. It is worth noting that the anime’s ending will be different from the manga, with brand-new scenes and events.

Kubo revealed that he began producing storyboards for some of the anime’s sequences, as he finds it easier to visualize his ideas through drawings than to describe them in text. However, he was concerned about interfering with the animation team’s work - but they liked the drawings: "When I started, I wondered whether I really should do that, because it might seem like I was getting in the animation team’s way. But after I drew one and they were very pleased with it, I thought, ‘Ah, I guess it’s okay for me to do this,’ and I’ve been doing it quite often ever since."

The fourth and final season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, titled The Calamity, is currently streaming on Disney+ and will have 10 episodes, adapting Ichigo’s final clashes against Yhwach’s forces. The finale is scheduled for September 26.
