Teach You a Lesson is officially the second most-watched K-drama in Netflix history, behind only the three seasons of Squid Game.

The streaming platform’s What We Watched report revealed that the production starring Kim Mu-yeol has amassed 54.9 million views worldwide since its premiere in June.

That figure puts Teach You a Lesson within striking distance of breaking into Netflix’s top 10 most-watched non-English-language series of all time — the 10th spot is currently held by the first season of the Mexican series Who Killed Sara?, with 58.4 million global views.

Within the top 10, only Squid Game represents K-dramas. The show’s three seasons occupy the top three spots in the ranking, with more than 600 million views combined.

Everything about Teach You a Lesson

In the K-drama, the South Korean government responds to the rise in school violence cases by establishing the Educational Rights Protection Agency, bringing together teachers/agents who are authorized to use any means necessary to discipline delinquent students and restore order to the education system.

Kim Mu-yeol (The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil) plays the supervisor of this new agency, while Jin Ki-joo (Undercover High School) stars as the investigator who becomes his right-hand woman. The cast also includes Lee Sung-min (Reborn Rich), Pyo Ji-hoon (Good Partner) and Ha Young (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call).

Written by the trio led by Lee Nam-kyu (Daily Dose of Sunshine) and directed by Hong Jong-chan (Mr. Plankton), Learning the Lesson is now available to stream on Netflix.
