X-Men Don't Exist in 'Marvel's Wolverine' Universe
The game will focus on Team X, led by Nathaniel Essex.
As revealed during the game's panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel's Wolverine will be set in a universe where the X-Men do not exist. The game will focus on Team X, an organization that includes Mystique, Sabretooth, and, of course, Wolverine under the command of Nathaniel Essex.
The name Essex, for those who are already somewhat familiar with the comics, is quite recognizable, but it's also worth highlighting the presence of Bolivar Trask and Trask Industries in the game — both classic villains in several Wolverine storylines. Lady Deathstrike is another antagonist who will be part of the cast.
Among other appearances, we've already seen Jean Grey as an ally of the protagonist in one of the trailers, and it's hard to imagine the rest of the game won't bring other familiar names to the screen.
Marvel's Wolverine is set to launch on September 15 for PlayStation 5.
