Rising component prices don't yet seem to be a major concern for the next generation.

Sony has once again spoken about its next generation of consoles in its latest fiscal report: CFO Lin Tao stated that the development of the PlayStation 6 is "progressing as scheduled". This statement comes at a curious time, as the entire industry seems apprehensive about the new consoles due to the extremely high price of RAM and storage.
The growth caused by AI was "negated" by Sony through other cost reductions and price adjustments — the PS5, after all, has already had its share of price increases. Furthermore, the company assures that it already has enough memory for its next fiscal year, which provides some reassurance for the start of PS6 production.
Although it hasn't been officially announced, the PlayStation 6 has already been mentioned several times by Sony, and some leaks point to features that should arrive with the console. A release date, naturally, hasn't been revealed either — but considering that the PS5 will be 7 years old in 2027, it's expected that the end of its cycle is near.
Along with information about the PS6, Sony also revealed the positive impact of Marvel's Wolverine on the company's revenue, with 2.4 million copies sold. The game also helped establish a new record for total users, with 127 million players in September across both PS4 and PS5.
