Leaked 'Kingdom Hearts' Video Details Story of Canceled Mobile Game

One of the most mysterious projects in the Kingdom Hearts franchise is back in the spotlight. A video featuring the opening of Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link, a mobile game canceled by Square Enix in 2025, leaked online and caught fans’ attention. Initially treated as a rumor, the material had its authenticity confirmed this Monday (20), revealing that the studio had already completed the opening cinematic before shutting down the game’s development. The sequence shows a group of Keyblade wielders facing off against a massive Heartless before arriving at Quadratum, a world that will play an important role in Kingdom Hearts IV. Because of this, fans have started speculating that part of Missing-Link’s story could be reused in the franchise’s next main game.

So far, however, Square Enix has not confirmed whether the events of the canceled project will officially be incorporated into the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts IV.
