Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Laufey in God of War: Laufey and God of War: Ragnarök, spoke about the misogynistic comments she has been receiving following the game's announcement, and she seems pretty unfazed by it.
"Honestly, I really thought I’d be more affected by it," the actress said while responding to a fan at a convention. "First, I’m not on social media, so that helps. And second, I don’t know, I’m not worried because I know it’s great. It may not be to your taste, but in no universe is it bad," Woll concluded.

After the announcement of God of War: Laufey, a wave of negative comments about the game began appearing online, coming from a very vocal minority that criticized the title for not having Kratos as the protagonist, but rather Laufey.
It’s worth remembering that the character, who was Midgard’s protector, is mentioned throughout both games and was remembered as such a great warrior that she stood toe-to-toe with Thor and Kratos himself.
Everything you need to know about God of War: Laufey
God of War: Laufey was revealed during an State of Play, showcasing the next chapter of the God of War franchise. In the game, Faye (Deborah Ann Woll) appears in the Everywhen, the afterlife of the Gods, and ends up encountering two Gods of War, Sekhmet and Begtse. Betgse is the Mongolian God of War, while Sekhmet is also associated with plagues, vengeance, medicine, and the sky.
Both are the main "rulers" of Everywhen, a place that ended up being corrupted by the union of the duo trying to control it. It was also revealed that the game takes place right after Kratos burns Laufey’s body in God of War (2018).
The game’s combat is closer to the hack n' slash style of the franchise’s earlier entries, with Faye able to use quick attacks and aerial combat through her combos. She is also aided in battle by Phranque (Jack Quaid) and Rue (Perlina Lau).
God of War: Laufey still does not have a set release date, but it will be released for PlayStation 5.
