'Smallville' Creators Don't Rule Out a Series Revival: "Open to Exploring"
The show aired between 2001 and 2011.
Smallville celebrates 25 years since its premiere this Friday (16) and was a landmark in superhero productions before the arrival of the MCU. Even 15 years after the end of the series, creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough do not rule out returning for a revival.
“We never say never. I mean, that’s something we certainly are open to exploring,” Gough said in an interview with TheWrap. “Again, with all of the various regime changes and things at DC, it’s a little tricky. There’s obviously been other iterations of Superman on screen, on the feature side and on the TV side, but it’s absolutely something we’d be open to exploring again.”
“There’s lots to explore, and I’d love to see where they are 25 years later,” Millar agreed. “I think it would do very, very well and I think people would really enjoy it, and we’d love to write something like that. [But] when we talk about it, it’s the usual story with the show … we get told no."
