Lucy Hale, who played one of the protagonists in Pretty Little Liars, will star in and produce a miniseries for Roku. Titled Scarlett Holmes, the production is scheduled to premiere in 2027, exclusively on The Roku Channel and will present a new version of the universe of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes.
In the story, Hale plays Scarlett, a modern-day descendant of Holmes who inherited his observational skills, but uses them to unravel romantic problems instead of crimes. Alongside her partner, Jane Watson, she helps clients deal with secret passions, complicated encounters, and contradictory signals in relationships.
The protagonist's own love life, however, becomes a challenge when she falls for Ollie Moriarity, a podcast producer who plans to expose her methods. The actors playing Jane and Ollie have not yet been announced.
Written by Paris Herbert-Taylor and Katie Wilbert, the miniseries will feature episodes inspired by classic romantic comedies and will be produced by Jaggi Entertainment.
