'Euphoria' Creator Sam Levinson Signs Series Deal with Amazon for Prime Video
Screenwriter signs deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
According to Deadline, Sam Levinson, creator of Euphoria, has signed a deal with Amazon MGM Studios to develop and produce series for Prime Video. The agreement marks the writer and director's return to the studio after years of partnership with HBO, where he worked on his major television projects.
The change comes after the conclusion of Euphoria, a teen drama that became one of HBO's biggest hits and gained worldwide attention for addressing themes such as drugs, sexuality, relationships, and mental health.
Starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Colman Domingo, the production garnered a large fan base and helped boost the careers of its cast. The third season premiered in 2026, after a four-year hiatus since the second season, and marked the end of the series.
Under the new contract, Levinson will also serve as executive producer on projects by Ashley Levinson, his wife and partner in the production company Tiny Goat Productions.
Peter Friedlander, global head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, celebrated the partnership and described Levinson as "one of the boldest and most original voices in television today ," highlighting the ability of his stories to reach audiences in different countries.
In addition to Euphoria, Levinson created the series The Idol, also on HBO, and directed films such as Malcolm & Marie and Unforgettable.
Details about his first productions for Prime Video have not yet been released.
