Maisie Williams Comments on Possible Arya Stark 'Game of Thrones' Spin-off
Actress states she has no information about the project and reflects on the character's evolution.
In an interview with The Guardian, actress Maisie Williams addressed rumors regarding a potential Game of Thrones spin-off centered on her character, Arya Stark, noting that she has no information about the project.
Speculation about the film arose in January of this year following a Hollywood Reporter article that mentioned an attempt to revive the Jon Snow sequel by adding another popular character to kickstart the production.
"I saw that too! I was like, 'Huh?' I really don't know. She would have to be developed in some way because I feel like I've changed so much, and I feel like what people loved about Arya was that she was always a child doing very adult things," Williams said.
According to sources cited in the report, all these ideas are in the early stages of development, and franchise creator George R. R. Martin declined to comment on specific projects.
Meanwhile, a confirmed film—Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest, with a screenplay by Beau Williamson (Andor)—is moving forward at the studio, though it does not involve characters from the original Game of Thrones core cast.
