Hulu Cancels Mindy Kaling Comedy 'Not Suitable for Work' After Just One Season

According to an exclusive report from Variety, the comedy series Not Suitable for Work, created by Mindy Kaling, has been canceled by Hulu after just one season. The show premiered in June of this year and had nine episodes released.

The plot follows a group of work-obsessed twenty-somethings trying to achieve professional success while also finding, whenever they can, some room for a personal life in Manhattan. Ella Hunt, Avantika, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay, and Jay Ellis star in the main cast.

Kaling serves as executive producer alongside showrunner Charlie Grandy and Howard Klein of 3 Arts Entertainment. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television in partnership with Kaling International, the creator’s banner.

Despite the cancellation, the story may still continue—but in another home. According to Variety, Warner Bros. Television plans to pitch Not Suitable for Work to other networks and streaming platforms in an attempt to continue the series.
