'Gilmore Girls' Documentary in Production at Warner, Report Says
Lauren Graham is one of the first cast members confirmed to reminisce her time in Stars Hollow.
A Gilmore Girls documentary is currently on works at Warner Bros. Television for HBO Max. Still untitled, the project is to be directed by Bonni Cohen (Athlete A) and feature Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore on the show, as one of the storytellers. The information comes from Deadline.
Creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino are also onboard to tell their side of events to what became one of the most popular coming of age series of all time. Additional guests are yet to be revealed.
This is the first time Gilmore Girls will receive an official documentary—previously, Netflix reunited the main cast for mini series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, that focused on the character's lives 10 years after. As the report states, the project is set to include "never-before-seen outtakes, behind-the-scenes footage, script pages" and more.
The Machine Filmworks and Warner Horizon Unscripted Television are producing the documentary, which still doesn't have a release date.
