'Chicago P.D' Introduces New Police Officer; Learn More

Chicago PD officially introduced its new member last Wednesday (28), during the fourth episode of the 14th season. Played by actor Naiqui Macabroad, Donovan “Penny” Watts is a police officer who stands out for his courage in dangerous incidents and for his ease of working on the streets, thanks to his friendly personality and closeness to important people in the community. In the plot, he works in the 11th District, in Harrison.

In the episode “My Eye, My Call”, Watts works alongside Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and the Intelligence Unit investigating a murder. Recognizing the young officer's potential, Voight invites him to join his team.

The character's arrival comes after the departure of Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), who left the Chicago police force to take up a position as an instructor at the Georgia Police Academy.

Before joining the cast of Chicago PD , Naiqui Macabroad had roles in television productions such as StartUp, in which he played Oskar, Power, Timeless, The Conners, and Law & Order. The actor also appeared in Gossip Girl, Kingdom, and Diarra from Detroit .
