Everything you need to know about Blade Runner 2099
Blade Runner 2099 returns to the cyberpunk world immortalized by the 1982 classic Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, and continued by Denis Villeneuve and Ryan Gosling in the sequel, Blade Runner 2049, released in 2017 with Ford returning.
Check out the series’ official synopsis: "In 2099 Los Angeles, Cora (Hunter Schafer) has spent her entire life on the run, a chameleon forced to assume countless identities. To secure a stable future for her brother, she takes on one final identity and is compelled to join forces with Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), a Blade Runner facing the end of her life. The two are drawn into an expanding conspiracy that poses an existential threat to a city struggling to be reborn."
The director of Shōgun, Jonathan van Tulleken, will direct and executive produce the first two episodes.
Echoing his role directing the 1982 feature, the series will have Ridley Scott as an executive producer. The cast already includes Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Tom Burke (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Maurizio Lombardi (Ripley), Johnny Harris (Jawbone), Amy Lennox (Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines), Sheila Atim (The Woman King) and Matthew Needham (House of the Dragon), Dimitri Abold (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Lewis Gribben (Limbo), Katelyn Rose Downey (The Nun II) and Daniel Rigby (Flowers).
