Taylor Swift Breaks VMA Tie With Beyoncé to Become the Most-Awarded Artist

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé's Video Music Awards (VMA) award tie has finally come to an end. After receiving the first ever MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia,” and Best Direction for “Opalite", Swift now holds the title for being the most awarded singer in the event's history. 

With 32 trophies overall, Swift was previously tied with the "Lemonade" singer with 30 statuettes, but surpassed Beyoncé after receiving the inaugural trophy for Artist Director Honors by the hands of long-time friend Dakota Johnson. 

“She is an architect of emotional landscapes filled with the most intimate and intricate detail", said the actress, who appeared in her latest music video, "Patient Zero", alongside Colin Farrell.
