Taylor Swift Announces 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore' With New Songs

Taylor Swift continues her series of announcements: after revealing "Patient Zero", a new track that premieres this Friday (25), the singer also announced that an extended version of her latest album will premiere on the same day. The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore will feature four new songs, and can already be pre-saved on streaming platforms.

According to Taylor herself, the unreleased songs came about during a trip to Sweden with Max and Shellback, producers who worked with her on The Life of a Showgirl.

"We just wanted to reflect and absorb how grateful we were for that moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything: we wrote more songs. I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for the exuberance and celebration of the album we made," the artist explains in her caption.

It was not clear whether "Patient Zero", announced this Tuesday (22), is part of this batch of four songs, or whether it will be a separate project. The difference in visual identities, however, points to the second option.
