Zendaya to Star in New A24 Film

After Dune: Part 3, Zendaya already has a new science fiction project on her agenda. The actress has been cast to star in an as-yet-untitled film written and directed by Alex Garland (Civil War and 28 Days Later) for A24 . Information about the film is scarce, but it is also known that filming is scheduled to begin in 2027.

The announcement comes after a busy year for Zendaya, who starred in major blockbusters such as The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as well as starring in The Drama alongside Robert Pattinson, which grossed nearly $135 million at the worldwide box office. Her last release in 2026 will be the upcoming Dune: Part 3.

Garland's new project may also affect the schedule of 28 Weeks Later: Part 3, as he is involved in other productions. Recently, Danny Boyle stated that the third film in the franchise is on the back burner, both due to Garland's busy schedule and the need for funding. There is still no confirmation that the new work with Zendaya will cause a further delay in the sequel.
