The casting of Sadie Sink as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day surprised many fans, but the actress revealed that she also knew very little about the character. In an interview with Variety, Sink said she had never watched the X-Men movies and only knew about the mutant because of the rumors circulating online about her possible casting.

"Honestly, I didn't know anything about her. There had been rumors circulating online for years about me playing this character, so that was all I knew about her. But I had never watched 'X-Men,' so I really didn't know her at all," she said.

According to the actress, it was during a meeting with Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito of Marvel Studios that she got to know the heroine and her role in the film better. "After that, I looked into her more and thought, 'Oh, yeah, of course I want to!'. She's such an iconic figure in the X-Men and in comics, and I'm really excited to bring my version of her to life," she added.

It's worth noting that Jean Grey is one of Marvel Comics' most powerful mutants and a founding member of the X-Men. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963, the character is known for her telepathic and telekinetic powers, as well as her striking connection to the cosmic Phoenix Force.
