Marvel has finally announced the film and the full cast for the X-Men reboot. The movie is set to premiere on May 5, 2028, and much of the cast was confirmed during the presentation. Check out the lineup:

X-Men had a long run in theaters, with films produced by Fox since the early 2000s. An initial trilogy was made, and later the mutant group went through a sort of reboot, with an entirely new cast. In 2019, Fox was acquired by Disney, which has since been paving the way for the characters’ return to the big screen under new leadership.

Because of that, some mutants have been showing up in Marvel Studios productions, such as Beast in The Marvels, Professor Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the duo Deadpool and Wolverine in the self-titled film, which also featured other special appearances. On top of that, Ms. Marvel herself, Kamala Khan, was confirmed as a mutant in the MCU.

In the comics, the X-Men are a group of people born with special abilities who face prejudice from society simply for being mutants. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the original lineup included Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Beast, and Angel, along with Professor X himself. It was only many years later that more popular characters like Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, and Storm were added. It is still unknown which lineup will be used in theaters.
