Gal Gadot Says Her 'Wonder Woman' Departure Wasn't "Handled Elegantly"

Actress Gal Gadot spoke in an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast about the confusion surrounding Wonder Woman 3 and the changes at DC Studios.

She said that the studio heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran, assured her that the film would be developed with her, but acknowledged that the situation involving other actors from the old DC league was not "handled elegantly."

"They told me the opposite [of it being canceled]! They said, 'We're going to develop this with you,'", Gadot said about her conversation with Gunn and Safran. "But I saw how everyone was treated." She cited Henry Cavill as an example of a badly handled situation, since the actor announced his return as Superman in October 2022, only to be dropped two months later.

"The Henry situation was not handled elegantly, to say the least. Same with Patty [Jenkins]. We’re all adults and it’s all good," she added. Gadot said she holds no grudge and that Gunn and Safran are doing what they believe is best, but said she does not believe she will play Diana Prince on the big screen again.

"For me to do another Wonder Woman, I'm not sure I would at this point in my life with four children and different schools and all of that", the actress concluded, stating that she doesn't see herself spending "a long period of time" away from her kids. 

At the moment, there are no plans for a solo Wonder Woman film, much less an actress cast in the role. However, rumors suggest that Adria Arjona would be Gunn's choice to play the character, and that her role as Maxima in Superman: Man of Tomorrow would be a cover to avoid spoiling the surprise.
