Will 'Percy Jackson' Season 3 Have an A16 Rating? Producer Answers

Percy Jackson fans received a lot of content to deep dive in this Thursday (23) at San Diego Comic-Con, but a non-obvious piece of information that caught fan's eyes has been sparking online debate.

After Disney's Brazilian social media channels posted the official poster with an A16 age rating, fans ran to forums like Reddit to discuss what the new age classification could imply. For context, the two previous Percy Jackson seasons were aimed towards a TV-PG rating. 

In an interview with Omelete, producer Dan Shotz was asked about the new age rating and reacted as if that was the first time he was hearing about it. 

"Is that real?", responded the producer. "Wait, why that is?", he continued, seemingly confused and searching for other team members in the room. "You just broke some news", concluded Shotz. Even though the confusion made some fans cheer that the new season content would be intended to a more mature audience, the mistake was rapidly corrected by Disney's team.

The new season adapts the book The Titan's Curse, by Rick Riordan, and follows Percy and his allies on a mission to rescue Artemis and Annabeth Chase from the titan Atlas.

The season will have eight episodes, with the following titles and writers:

1. “My Rescue Operation Goes Very Wrong,” by Craig Silverstein
2. “An Old Dead Friend Comes to Visit,” by Albert Kim
3. "I Learn How to Grow Zombies," by Sarah Watson
4. “We Visit the Junkyard of the Gods,” by Tamara Becher-Wilkinson
5. “I Have a Dam Problem,” by Shae Worthy
6. "I Wrestle Santa's Evil Twin," by Albert Kim
7. "I Put on a Few Million Extra Pounds," by Craig Silverstein
8. "The Gods Vote How to Kill Us," by Craig Silverstein

The story begins with the return of Thalia, the legendary daughter of Zeus, and is expected to introduce important characters like Nico and Bianca di Angelo — the children of Hades. The adaptation is also expected to condense events from the book, since the series works with fewer episodes than the original chapters.

Throughout the season, Percy faces new threats, including mythological creatures and challenges tied to the gods, passing through locations such as a divine junkyard and the Hoover Dam.

The cast is led by Walker Scobell and also includes Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Tamara Smart, as well as newcomers Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie.

It will premiere sometime in 2026, likely in December, the traditional release month for the Disney series.
