'The Beatles' Biopic Producer on Why All Four Films Will be Out at Once
All the biopics are set to hit theaters on April 6, 2028.
The four feature films that will compose the The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event will all be released on the same day, but producer Pippa Harris isn't expecting everyone to go and watch each movie on a single day.
Speaking on the strategy launch at the BFI London Film Festival, she stated wanting "people to be able to experience them in the cinema during the same period", not exactly expecting them to "see all four films on the same day".
“So within the same month — you might see one a week, or you might see one weekend and two the next and one the next. However you see it, I think our hope is that people will see all four films. [...] They have a cumulative power, which I think is greater than the sum of the parts", she said.
Everything you need to know about the Beatles movies
The four Beatles biopics will star Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, and Joseph Quinn as Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, respectively.
Harry Lloyd will play George Martin, the Beatles' longtime music producer, and the previously announced casting of James Norton as manager Brian Epstein has also been confirmed.
The band's inner circle, made up of roadies and press officers, includes David Morrissey as Jim McCartney, Paul McCartney's father; Leanne Best as Mimi, John Lennon's aunt; Bobby Schofield as Neil Aspinall, road manager and trusted confidant; Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Mal Evans, roadie; Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, press officer and friend; and Adam Pally as the controversial music manager Allen Klein.
Each film will focus on the perspective of a different Beatle, intertwining to capture the band's unlikely journey from Liverpool to the center of global culture, culminating in their breakup in 1970.
Active between 1960 and 1970, the Beatles became one of the most successful and revered bands in music history. Hits like "Hey Jude," "Help!," and "Come Together" defined the group's legacy.
