'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Becomes the Highest-Grossing Film in U.S. History

A huge new record for Spider-Man: Brand New Day! The Sony and Marvel film, starring Tom Holland, surpassed the box office of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and took the title of highest-grossing film of all time in the United States, with approximately $936.8 million after 47 days in theaters. It's worth remembering that the 2015 film previously held the record with $936 million.

With this new milestone, One More Day is also approaching another achievement: becoming the first film to reach $1 billion in the North American market alone.

Globally, the film has already grossed approximately US$2.45 billion, maintaining its position as the third highest-grossing film worldwide, behind Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.

In addition to Tom Holland returning as the protagonist, Jacob Batalon will once again play Ned, and Zendaya returns for the new Spider-Man film as MJ. New additions to the cast include Sadie Sink (Stranger Things).

Another confirmed cast member is Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, marking the hero's debut in Marvel films. In addition, Mark Ruffalo is in the film as the Hulk.

Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is directing the project. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who wrote the screenplay for Spider-Man: No Way Home, are also responsible for the upcoming film.
