Marvel Has Movies Planned Through 2042, Says Kevin Feige
Marvel Studios President Also Hints at the Next Chapter in the X-Men Saga
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is far from coming to an end. In an interview with chinese publication Weibo, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that the studio is already planning films through 2042, indicating that the MCU still has many years of stories ahead, without going into detail:
Our plan is...... I haven't told anyone about this before, to your friends: this isn't a vague answer. We were just in the Marvel Studios conference room, and we've already planned the movie up to 2042. As for whether we can hold out until 2042? Who knows? Could what be produced be those movies? Who knows? But this is how we gradually handle and plan the vast potential stories in comics. We are always changing, evolving, but having a little guidance to help us act more purposefully." the executive said, noting that the future "mutant saga" is already part of the studio’s plans.
While the future is still being mapped out, Marvel has major releases lined up for the rest of the year. The studio’s next films are Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Domsday.
