In an interview with ScreenRant during San Diego Comic-Con 2026 (SDCC), director Jonathan Goldstein revealed the current status of a possible sequel to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, released in 2023.

According to the filmmaker, he and his team of writers were hired to write a script for the sequel, but it is uncertain whether it will actually be made. "We wrote a sequel to Dungeons & Dragons. We were hired to write it. I don’t know if that will ever see the light of day for a number of financial reasons," he explained.

"They are re expensive movies to make, but it would be great fun to make the sequel. We love the cast, and we think we wrote something the fans would like," the director admitted. The original film, which was well received by critics, was not a box office success, earning a total of $205.46 million against a budget of $150 million.
