Production company Temple Hill Entertainment has confirmed a sequel to the horror/comedy Clown in a Cornfield, titled Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives. The announcement was revealed by Fango, and filming is set to take place later this year, suggesting a possible 2027 release.
The story follows Quinn Maybrook (played by Katie Douglas in the first film), who survived the massacre in Kettle Springs and is now trying to start over in college.
However, her past catches up with her when she becomes the target of online conspiracy theories denying that the massacre ever happened. The conflict escalates when one killer clown attacks Quinn at a party while another goes after her father – forcing her to return to the cornfields to face the nightmare once again.
The sequel’s script is being written by Hudson Morgan and Will Lowell, both of whom have Black List credits and experience in series and feature films. It has not yet been confirmed whether Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil), director of the first film, will return – he is currently involved with the Christmas horror film White Elephant.
