Brad Pitt Says He’s Going to Teach Neymar How to Fake Better

In an interview with Esquire magazine, Brad Pitt joked about soccer players acting when faking fouls during the Paraguay vs. Germany match at the World Cup.

Alongside journalist Ryan D'Agostino, who was profiling him for the publication, the actor watched a Paraguayan player make what he considered an "over-the-top and fake" grimace of pain, and used the moment to announce a new fictional project.

"I'm going to give classes on how to fake fouls, because these guys are terrible," Pitt said. "It's some of the worst acting I've ever seen. I know drawing a foul is part of the game's cunning, but man, they need a lot of help. And I'm going to start with Neymar, because as much as he moves like a ballerina on the field, man, he needs help."

The actor, who jokingly offered to teach the players how to "sell the scene" with more subtlety and less exaggeration, said he has a "full training program" to teach athletes how to make their simulations more realistic.

The match in question ended with Germany being eliminated on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time and extra time.
