Jeremy Renner will not be in Avengers: Doomsday, the upcoming Marvel Studios event film. The actor, who plays Clint Barton, Hawkeye, confirmed his absence in a recent interview reported by Variety. "No, no, no, no. Not in this movie," he stated when asked about a possible return. This is because, as the directors have stated, the film's cast has not been fully revealed, fueling rumors that some names are being kept secret.

In a joking tone, Renner added that the Avengers will probably lose without his character. "They didn't call me, so it's their fault. They're going to lose," he declared.

Despite being absent from the new film, Renner expressed enthusiasm for the re-release of Avengers: Endgame in theaters, ahead of the premiere of Doomsday. The actor has already played Hawkeye in The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Endgame, in addition to making appearances in Thor and Captain America: Civil War.

Previously, in 2025, Renner had stated that he was open to returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), both in a possible second season of Hawkeye and in other projects. At the time, he said he liked the character and his co-stars.
