Kohei Horikoshi, creator of My Hero Academia, is set to explore a new genre in his next manga. The author announced Don't Laugh, Shijima-san, a one-shot that blends horror and romance and will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump on August 10 in Japan.
Described as a "boy meets girl" story, the work promises to completely distance itself from the world of Deku and the U.A. heroes. Still without an official synopsis, the manga will have 61 fully colored pages. Horikoshi previously expressed, on other occasions, his desire to create a horror story inspired by the atmosphere of tales told around a campfire.
The announcement keeps fans wondering about a possible connection to the world of My Hero Academia, although nothing has been confirmed so far. More details about the plot are expected to be revealed closer to release.
