Aizen Takes Center Stage in Images from 'Bleach' Next Episode

New images from episode 48 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — the eighth of Part 4, The Calamity — put Aizen in the spotlight. The official synopsis for the new chapter has also been released and promises to move the story forward after Ichigo’s clash with Yhwach.

In the story, Uryu manages to trigger the destruction of Wahrwelt’s central island, but Yhwach no longer needs the Distortion after regaining his powers. Meanwhile, Ichigo is completely shaken after having his Bankai destroyed and his Zanpakutō broken, to the point that he can’t even stand up. That’s when old adversaries appear before him.

The Calamity is the fourth and final part of Thousand-Year Blood War and will have 10 episodes, corresponding to chapters 41 to 50 in the anime’s overall count.
