Anson Mount Confirms He Spoke with Kevin Feige About an 'Inhumans' Return

In an interview with ScreenRant, Anson Mount revealed how his return as Black Bolt in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came about. The actor said he received an unexpected phone call from Kevin Feige himself offering him the role, but with one condition: he would be playing an alternate version of the character, from Earth-838.

"The phone call was basically, "Hey, would you like to come and reprise this role that got canceled and let us pay you a lot of money?", said Mount, to which he replied in acceptance. 

The actor highlighted how much he enjoyed working with Sam Raimi: "What a bucket list item for me. I've been a huge fan of his my entire life. And he was such a wonderful guy and so incredibly collaborative. He brought me into the process to figure out the emotional arc for Black Bolt and to figure out what would be the one word for him to say". 

Asked whether he would be open to an Inhumans reboot, Mount replied: "Yeah. My philosophy in this business has been to walk through the open door, and it's served me pretty well thus far. So yeah, of course. I would have some ideas." He confirmed that he had conversations with Feige about it after Doctor Strange, but acknowledged that Marvel has "bigger fish to fry".
