Anakin Will Have a Lightsaber Fight Scene in 'Ahsoka' Season 2

Hayden Christensen let slip, during an interview with Omelete at D23, that Anakin Skywalker will have more intense action scenes in the second season of Ahsoka.

OMELETE: So can we expect to see more of Anakin in action?

CHRISTENSEN: I don’t know... we’ll have to stay tuned and find out.

OMELETE: But did you train for this season?

CHRISTENSEN: I did a fair amount of training. I take lightsaber work very seriously. So I spent a good amount of time trying to make it look as good as possible. And that’s one of the most fun parts of doing this... I hope people enjoy it.

Created by Dave Filoni, Ahsoka was introduced as a padawan in The Clone Wars, where she was trained by none other than Anakin Skywalker. Very young and temperamental at first, she eventually became a great warrior and fought alongside the Republic until the very end of the Clone Wars, ultimately leaving the Jedi Order after becoming disillusioned with the group’s politics.

Later, in Star Wars Rebels, an adult Ahsoka resurfaced to help the group of rebels that includes young Jedi Ezra Briger, Hera Syndulla, and Sabine Wren. The character made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, when she began being portrayed by Rosario Dawson, and now has her own series that serves as a continuation of Rebels.

The story of Ahsoka begins with the search for Ezra Bridger (played by Eman Esfandi in live-action), the protagonist of Star Wars Rebels who disappeared alongside the villain Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen, reprising the role he played in Rebels), alongside Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), also characters from Rebels.

At the end of the first season, Ezra is rescued, but with him, Thrawn also returns. In the middle of all this, Ahsoka and former Jedi Baylan Skoll (Rory McCann, replacing the late Ray Stevenson) come across deep mysteries about the nature of the Force on a planet in another galaxy.

The full season is available on Disney+. New episodes arrive on the platform starting January 20.
