Lionel Richie Admitted to the ICU After U.S. Concert

According to information from TMZ, singer Lionel Richie was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a concert in St. Louis, United States.

According to the website, doctors are investigating possible dehydration as the cause of the hospitalization, and he is expected to be discharged later this Tuesday (1st).

Witnesses at the show reported that Richie appeared to be struggling toward the end of the performance. During the final song, "All Night Long", he asked the crew to bring a chair onto the stage so he could sit down while singing. In June, the singer had already gone through a similar scare at a show in Saint Paul, when he was rushed to a hospital after telling the audience he felt "dizzy" and "strange".

Richie, 77, is one of the biggest names in American pop and soul. He rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead singer of the Commodores and went on to have a solo career with more than 90 million records sold and four Grammy awards.

Among his biggest hits are "Hello", "Say You, Say Me" – which earned him the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1986 – and "All Night Long". He also serves as a judge on American Idol.
