The same insider who reported that Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) was being considered to play Magneto in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, ApocalypseHorseman, a figure with a track record of scoops related to Marvel and DC, took to social media to issue a correction. According to him, Driver will actually play Mister Sinister.
Apologizing, the user also shared two more updates. Bill Skarsgard (Nosferatu) is being considered for the role of Professor Xavier, and Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza) is one of the names in the running for Cyclops. The source emphasizes that Marvel's idea is to have a younger cast overall.
It's worth remembering that Brazilian actor Wagner Moura also emerged as one of the possible names for Mister Sinister.
X-Men had a long run in theaters, with films produced by Fox since the early 2000s. An initial trilogy was made, and then the mutant group went through a kind of reboot, with an entirely new cast. In 2019, Fox was acquired by Disney, which has since been preparing the characters' return to the big screen under new direction.
