The story of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which wraps up the trilogy, follows a new and pivotal journey for Miles Morales across the multiverse. Trapped in the home dimension of the spider that transformed him, the young hero must face an alternate version of himself while racing against time to escape.
At the same time, Gwen Stacy takes on a leadership role among the heroes of the newly formed Spider-Team, trying to gather allies to save Miles. Meanwhile, Miguel O’Hara remains determined to stop the protagonist, even if it leads to drastic consequences.
With the multiverse under threat from Spot’s attacks, Miles’ allies race against time to rescue him and prevent a collapse between dimensions.
Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson will direct the feature. It is produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo behind the acclaimed sci-fi Project Hail Mary.
Released in 2018 and 2023, the two Spider-Verse films follow Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) as he becomes the Spider-Man of his universe while also meeting Spider-People from other realities, including Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) and, of course, Peter Parker (Jake Johnson).
Together, the films have grossed more than US$ 1 billion at the worldwide box office, and the first movie took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse premieres on June 18, 2027.
