'Rocky Horror' and 'Home Alone' Star Tim Curry Dies at 80

Actor passed away at his home, reports say.

Legendary actor Tim Curry has passed away at age 80, TMZ reports. Mostly known for his roles in Home Alone, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Itthe artist was living with health issues after having a stroke in 2012.

According to reports, police was called to his Los Angeles home last Tuesday night.

Curry got his first break with a London rendition of Hair, which introduced him to Richard O'Brien, who then went on to write the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter for Curry to star in the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show. "He gave me the script, and I thought, "Boy, if this works, it's going to be a smash", Curry said in a 2013 interview. It became one of his most popular roles. 

After a few more musical years, he began working in Hollywood film productions in the 1990s, such as Home Alone, Addams Family Reunion, Over the Top, It, Scary Movie 2, Charlie's Angels—to name a few. 

Regarding his personal life, the actor focused on horticulturalist duties for his own residences and neighborhood in LA. On July 2012, he suffered a major stroke that required brain surgery and left him with permanent mobility and short-term memory issues. 

On October 2025, he published a memoir called Vagabond. "Now, in his memoir, Curry takes readers behind-the-scenes of his rise to fame from his early beginnings as a military brat to his formative years in boarding school and university, to the moment when he hit the stage for the first time", the description reads.
