According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is planning a new venture into the Looney Tunes universe with a feature film inspired by Ocean's Eleven. The production is one of several projects based on the company's vast catalog that are in development, boosted by the box office success of Coyote vs. Acme.

The move comes as Skydance, which acquired Warner Bros., assesses the future of its three animation studios. The Warner division, led by president Bill Damaschke, is seen internally as the "crown jewel" of the portfolio, thanks to its legendary history dating back to 1930s short films and its catalog packed with recognizable characters, such as those from DC Comics and Hanna-Barbera.

This is the first Looney Tunes animated feature film in over a decade and features animation by DNEG, as well as one of the last voice acting performances by Eric Bauza, who passed away in October.

The short film serves precisely to try and erase the bitter taste of the Coyote vs. Acme saga, which was shelved by the previous management but became a huge box office hit in 2026 after being rescued by another distributor.

In addition to the new Looney Tunes movie, the studio has an extensive list of projects planned for the coming years. These include a new Tom and Jerry film, the first computer-animated version of The Flintstones, and a Speedy Gonzales movie directed by Jorge R. Gutiérrez. Warner is also preparing a live-action/CGI adaptation of the Meerkats series , titled Meerkats , and an animated film based on ThunderCats.

By 2028, Warner plans to continue its partnership with the work of Dr. Seuss through Oh, The Places You'll Go!, in addition to releasing the Hello Kitty movie and the DC Dynamic Duo project.
