Christopher Nolan Praises 'Obsession': "Works Like a Motherf***er"
'The Odyssey' director says he is "always looking" for ways to approach the horror genre.
Obsession, the debut horror movie from filmmaker Curry Barker, has also captivated Christopher Nolan. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director behind The Odyssey has praised the feature film: "That movie works like a motherfucker", said Nolan.
When asked if he's open to embracing more horror aspects to his own work, he said he's "always believed that horror as a genre has to be approached very carefully from a conceptual point of view". "In other words, you have to have an amazing idea", he concluded.
For now, though, he said that fans of his work will have to settle with the way The Odyssey approaches horror: "They don’t need to beg me to tell a horror story anymore. Just buy a ticket", said Nolan.
During its theater run, Obsession grossed over US$ 442 million globally and broke records for the horror genre worldwide. The movie, written and directed by Barker, stars Inde Navarrette as Nikki, Michael Johnston as Bear, Megan Lawless as Sarah and Cooper Tomlinson as Ian. C
