The success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to make waves and impress Hollywood. Now it was Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro's turn to comment on the film's historic performance. He said the hero's movie results are a "good omen" for Avengers: Doomsday, the next major event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In an interview with Variety, the executive congratulated Sony, Kevin Feige, and the Marvel Studios team on the result. "It's an unbelievable result and further proof that audiences show up in huge numbers for major theatrical experiences," he said. D'Amaro also highlighted the character's strength, noting that 65 years after his creation, Spider-Man remains one of the most popular heroes in pop culture, whether in licensed products, theme parks, or streaming.
According to the CEO, the film's performance reinforces Disney's confidence in the future of the franchise. "The success of Spider-Man is a great omen for our highly anticipated film Avengers: Doomsday," he said.
