'Core Keeper' Is Getting a Free Update in September; Check It Out
Free update adds mounts, a grappling hook, and a new sub-biome
Core Keeper will receive a new free content update on September 21. Titled Riders of the Underground, the expansion is coming to all players of the mining adventure and survival game.
The big new feature is the introduction of equipable mounts for the first time. The game’s livestock can now be ridden and will gain new behavior options, including commands to stay in place, roam freely, or follow the player as a companion. Another addition is the Hookshot, a grappling hook that lets players leap over chasms and pits without needing to build bridges or lay down paths.
The update also adds the Moss sub-biome, featuring lush vegetation among stone ruins in the Forgotten Ruins, as well as new pets with exclusive abilities, weapons, accessories, armor pieces, and quality-of-life improvements.
Riders of the Underground will be released for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Visitors to the Tokyo Game Show will be able to try out the update at the event later this month.
